Corporate Holiday Party - Priority Envelopes
I flew home and changed clothes and put on some makeup and started driving in rush hour to Plymouth from Savage. It took about 45 minutes. We thought we had to be set up by 5 but we really did not start till 6. We worked from 6 till 11 and had a wonderful time. These people were real easy to get along with and their company was doing well this year so they were all in great spirits. The owners gave away tons of gifts and they were good gifts too like flat screen tvs and video game systems and lots of other kinds of toys. It was an academy awards theme instead of christmas because there were many different ethnic and religious people there and we did not want to exclude or offend anyone. I did not play one christmas song and no one requested any. They did not mob the dance floor but they did dance. They liked the eighties, classic rock and lots of funky hip hop. Some country was requested and received pretty well. I got the best response to reggae. We were playing all kinds of music that night. Dinner music had a lot of songs from academy award winning movies. When I spoke on the microphone I tried to sound like I was at the academy awards and I made up categories for people and was very dramatic. We even did a grand entrance for the owners who came up and acted like they were receiving an academy award for best producers of a holiday party. They were so cute.
